Stove & Range Repair — Book a Visit Today

A stove quits in the middle of supper, not on a slow Tuesday. Burners that click but never light, an oven that runs cold, a glass top that heats one second and sulks the next. Most of it comes down to igniters, valves, bake elements, control boards, or a burnt wire behind the range. We pull the unit out, test the parts under power, and show you what we find before anything gets replaced. Older farmhouse circuits get checked too, because a range is only as steady as the outlet feeding it. Gas and electric, freestanding and slide-in, all major brands. We work independently. Call us and tell us what the stove is doing.

Stove & Range Repair — residential stove & range being serviced

The stove & range symptoms we hear most

  • It clicks and clicks but won't light Wet or cracked igniter, clogged burner port, or a bad spark module
  • Oven says 350 but nothing browns Failed temperature sensor, drifting calibration, or a weak bake element
  • One burner is dead, the rest work Open surface element, burnt receptacle, or a broken infinite switch
  • Glass top cycles hot then cold Control board relay or an element cycling on a bad switch
  • Smells like gas near the range Loose fitting, worn valve seal, or a burner cap seated wrong — shut it off first

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1If you smell gas, shut the supply valve, open a window, leave, and call from outside.
  • 2Check the breaker for the range circuit, since a double-pole breaker can trip on one leg and kill only the oven.
  • 3Lift the burner caps and grates on a gas range and make sure they're dry and seated flat in their notches.
  • 4Look at whether the oven is stuck in a lockout, timed bake, or self-clean mode on the display panel.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form. Describe the noise, the smell, the puddle. Brand and model help. We ask a few questions so the van carries the right parts before we ever pull in.

  2. Step 2

    We come find you

Gravel drive, creek crossing, farm lane off a county route — give us a landmark and we'll get there. We text before we head out so nobody sits by the window all day waiting.

  3. Step 3

    Diagnose, then repair

We open the machine, test the part, and show you what failed. You hear the plan before any work starts. Common parts ride with us, so many jobs finish on the same visit.

Stove & Range Repair — quick answers

My oven heats but food takes forever. Is that a repair?

Usually yes. A worn temperature sensor or a bake element that only partly glows will hold the cavity well below the setting. We measure actual cavity temperature against the display, then replace what tests bad rather than guessing.

Can you work on gas ranges, or just electric?

Both. Gas ranges need igniters, valves, and safety checks handled carefully. Electric ranges are more about elements, receptacles, and boards. Tell us which you have when you call us so we bring the right parts.

The glass cooktop is cracked. Can it be replaced?

Often it can, depending on the model and parts availability. A cracked top is a shock and spill hazard, so stop using it. We'll identify the model and let you know what the replacement path looks like.

Why does my oven smell like burning the first time each fall?

Dust settles on the bake element over a summer of no use and burns off. That's normal for a cycle or two. A smell that lingers, or smells sharp and electrical, means something needs to be looked at.

Do you handle slide-in and double wall ovens?

Yes. Slide-ins and wall ovens take more careful removal because of cabinetry and hardwired connections. We plan for that and protect the floor and counters on the way in and out.

How far out do you travel from Huntington?

We cover homes across six states around us, including plenty of places at the end of a hollow road. Give us your town when you call and we'll tell you honestly what our route looks like that week.

Questions worth asking any repair company

Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.

  • 1Ask for their license numberThen verify it with your state licensing board rather than taking it on trust.
  • 2Ask for proof of insuranceLiability cover protects you if something goes wrong in your home.
  • 3Get the quote in writingIncluding the trip fee, whether it's credited against the repair, and parts.
  • 4Ask how they handle callbacksIf the same fault returns, what happens? Get the answer before work begins.
  • 5Check their own reviewsLook the business up independently — their Google profile, not just what they tell you.

Why homeowners call us

  • Coal-country water eats machinesHard water and iron leave scale on heaters, valves, and pumps. Dishwashers film over. Washers clog. We see it every week and we clean and replace the parts that mineral buildup actually ruins.
  • Old farmhouse wiring, respectedPlenty of homes here run on two-prong outlets and panels older than the appliance. Low voltage and shared circuits cause faults people blame on the machine. We check the power before condemning a board.
  • Mike's name on the truckThis is a small workshop, not a call center. The person who answers knows the tech who shows up. If something isn't right after we leave, you call us and reach us directly.
  • Independent on every brandWe work on refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and freezers from all major makers. No brand tells us what to recommend. Sometimes the honest answer is that a repair isn't worth doing.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so — often on the phone.
