Why does my electric dryer tumble but never heat?
That pattern usually means the machine still has 120 volts but lost the second leg, or the heating element or thermal fuse is open. Restricted venting is the common root cause. We test the circuit and the components rather than guessing at parts.
Is a noisy dryer worth fixing?
Often yes. Rollers, belts, idler pulleys, and glides are wear items designed to be replaced. If the drum bearing has chewed into the rear bulkhead, we say so plainly and let you decide whether repair still makes sense.
How often should the vent be cleaned?
Once a year for a short run, more often if the duct is long, ribbed, or snakes through a crawlspace. Lint buildup is the usual reason heating parts fail twice. We clear what we can reach during the repair.
Do you work on gas dryers?
Yes. Gas models bring their own failure list: igniters, flame sensors, gas valve coils, and radiant sensors. We check gas supply and combustion airflow too. If we find anything unsafe with the line, we stop and tell you straight.
Can a power flicker damage the control board?
It can. Older farmhouse wiring and rural service drops see plenty of surges and brownouts. Symptoms look like scrambled displays, cycles that never advance, or a dryer that ignores buttons. We test the board before recommending replacement.
